Bout of Books

This will be my first time participating in Bout of Books!  It is too long to wait for the next Dewey Readathon in October so here goes nothing. The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, Twitter chats, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional.  For all Bout of Books 25 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. I am participating in Bout of Books 25.  This is my first time.  I want to finish at least 5 books.  Monday, May 13, 2019 What I read:   I finished Catching Fire .

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon came and went.  I didn't update here because I was updating on Instagram which is new for me since that wasn't really the plan but since I have an actual smart phone now it just kinda happened that way.  I didn't get much reading done any way, but that is fine.  But now I have the next Readathon Date- October 26th and I am going to plan to NOT be teaching Sunday school and maybe find a way to get away...maybe? that might just be a dream for now.  At the very least I can plan to not worry about Sunday school. Any way my reading schedule is OUT OF CONTROL!!!!  It is time to reign it in.  Time to scratch all the "plans" and focus on ONE book at a time.  Okay okay maybe two because...audio books.  I need to get stuff done but I need to read too.  I am torn as to where to focus my reading energy.  I did buy a  Reading Planner to help get me focused and get off the computer and hopefully to inspire me.  Not that I was doing a great job

Pre-readathon Time!

It was a busy spring break with my sister and nephew here.  I just barely finished one book- of course that is pretty low for me. It was suppose to be the first prereadathon challenge, too, and I already resigned myself to not participating but now with spring break over and back on regular schedule I am able to participate in the pre-readathon challenge #2.  It is a good one too.  Read for 24 hours before the 24 Readathon on April 6th (which I can't fully participate in any way because that is the Ladies Spring Brunch).  Life is just a series of obstacles keeping me from reading!  I am kinda joking, kinda not.  Any way, the way I figure it I need to read at least 3 hours a day till April 6th to get in my 24 hours.  This is how it is going so far- March 30th: Time Read- 1 hour Pages Read- 48 What I Read- Reading to finish the series March 31st: Time Read- 2 hours Pages Read- 154 What I Read- Reading to finish the series Reading with Ari
