Exhausting

Image
Last weekend was the Dewey 24 Hour Readathon.  I stayed up for about 21 hours before I crashed.  It took almost the whole week to recover from it all.  I was able to finish three books during the Readathon but the rest of the week I haven't read much at all. Still making my way through this series, on to #7 "Awesome! Wow!" This turned my world upside down.  Can't stop listening to the soundtrack! Spooky, fun reread Nevertheless it was a very bookish week because guess what?  The Great American Read Finale was on Tuesday.  I literally cried I was so happy people were coming together because- BOOKS!  The number one book ended up being To Kill a Mockingbird .  I was not disappointed as the only thing I really wanted was for the winning book to be by an American author.  If the program had been call The Great Read I wouldn't have thought too seriously about how I would love the #1 book to be by an American. Dewey Readathon Ready

Image
It is that time of year- Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon !  I have my snacks ready and my stack of books- a short one and a big one full of choices from recent book sale finds.  I am not sure how long I will be able to go or if I will be able to start on time at 5am but I sure am going to try!  At least this is the first time I am giving it a fair shot better the one during the spring and hopefully MUCH better than the reverse summer one (which was just unfortunate because of an argument that occurred and threw me off for the rest of the day).    BINGO ready Bribes aka Snacks to keep my kids busy and my tummy full Big Stack of Choices I haven't finished any new books that I haven't already listed but I just wanted to give a quick update on the Popsugar Challenge: 32/40 & 2/10

Out of no where my back and nearly my whole left side was in quire a bit of pain.  Instead of trying to work through it I very intentionally decided to rest because I REALLY didn't want to make it worse.  This made for a great reading week.  I also worked on a couple pre-read-a-thon BINGO cards just for the fun of it.  Bingo 1 2nd Row L to R ANIMAL ON THE COVER MAGICAL CREATURES ORANGE COVER MAGIC BOOK REC'D TO YOU Bingo 2 Middle Colum Down READ A BANNED BOOK A BOOK FROM THE LIBRARY FREE SPACE PUBLISHED IN THE LAST 5 YEARS READ ADULT WORK IN PROGRESS Bingo 3 4th Column Down A BOOK WRITTEN IN THIRD PERSON CHILDREN'S OR MIDDLE GRADE BOOK MULTIPLE AUTHORS MAKE SOMETHING CREATIVE INSPIRED BY A BOOK (going to make some German Chocolate Cookies from th...
